Vintage 1960s Navy Blue Gray & Ivory Straw Bucket Hat with Veil – Mod Mid Century Millinery

Description

A striking vintage 1960s structured straw hat featuring a wonderfully graphic color-blocked design in deep navy blue, soft blue-gray and creamy ivory.

The hat has a tall, flat-topped crown that transitions into a gently flared brim, creating the clean bucket-style silhouette associated with early to mid-1960s fashion. The crown is constructed in tightly worked navy straw, followed by a contrasting blue-gray center section and a creamy ivory lower brim.

A fine navy blue face veil drapes over the entire exterior, extending just beyond the brim. The open diamond-pattern netting adds a delicate layer of texture while allowing the strong three-color construction beneath it to remain visible.

The combination of the geometric silhouette, sophisticated navy palette and face-framing veil gives this piece a distinctly polished mid-century look with a subtle mod influence. It is an especially versatile vintage hat that could work beautifully with everything from a tailored suit or dress to contemporary editorial styling.

A small interior Union Made label is present, but no designer or retailer label is visible.

Condition

Very good vintage condition with age-appropriate wear. The structured straw body retains its shape well and the navy, blue-gray and ivory color blocking remains attractive. The vintage net veil is intact overall but shows some irregularity and looseness along the lower edge consistent with age and the delicate nature of vintage netting. Minor surface wear may be present throughout. Interior is clean overall with light signs of previous wear. Please review all photographs closely as they are considered part of the condition description.
