Description

A beautifully sculptural vintage 1950s hat by Evelyn Varon, featuring a soft neutral beige felt body accented with an extraordinary copper-brown feather ornament.

The hat has a low, asymmetrical profile with a softly molded crown and turned, dimensional brim that creates the elegant architectural silhouette associated with mid-century millinery. A coordinating felt bow anchors the dramatic feather arrangement at one side.

The feather trim is particularly striking, formed into a dense sweeping ornament of curled copper and russet-brown feathers with a long slender quill extending above the arrangement. Against the understated beige felt, the warm feather tones create a sophisticated tonal contrast.

The interior retains its original Evelyn Varon Model label along with an adjustable-size label. The felt body is also stamped “Made in Czechoslovakia,” indicating the hat was created using an imported Czech hat body and subsequently finished and trimmed as an Evelyn Varon design.
