A striking vintage circa 1940s hat by Flechet, beautifully made in France from luxurious deep inky blue black velour felt and accented with an unusual arrangement of curled blue feathers.

The hat features a softly sculpted, high rounded crown with a gently flared brim that dips around the face. A narrow black satin ribbon circles the crown and leads to a decorative side treatment of black ribbon loops and beautifully curled feathers in shades of cornflower, slate and pale blue.

The feather arrangement is particularly distinctive, with the feathers carefully shaped into sculptural curls that create an almost floral or scroll-like effect against the rich black velour. Fine dark feather strands add additional height and movement.

The interior retains the original gold-stamped "Flechet – Body Made in France" marking along with an additional original label. The elegant silhouette, luxurious velour finish and restrained but artistic feather ornamentation make this a wonderful example of mid-century French-inspired millinery.
