A spectacular vintage circa 1950s hat from Strauss Herschberg, featuring a rich deep red velour felt body and an extraordinary layered black and white feather band encircling the tall crown.

The hat has a beautifully sculpted mid-century silhouette with a tall, straight-sided crown and narrow turned brim. The saturated ruby-red felt has a soft velour finish that provides a dramatic backdrop for the elaborate featherwork.

Two broad rows of feathers completely surround the crown, combining glossy black feathers, soft ivory-white feathers and distinctive black feathers patterned with crisp white spots.
