A romantic vintage 1950s floral cocktail hat by celebrated American milliner Sally Victor, featuring an abundant arrangement of dimensional flowers and foliage in beautiful shades of periwinkle blue, lavender, powder blue and deep leafy green.

The compact rounded crown is surrounded by large velvet and sheer fabric blossoms with beautifully detailed stamens. Soft lavender-purple shading along the petals creates wonderful depth, while layered green fabric leaves provide rich contrast and give the hat the appearance of a lush floral wreath.

A delicate pale blue face veil falls from beneath the floral crown, adding the dramatic femininity characteristic of 1950s cocktail millinery. The combination of blue flowers and matching veil also makes this an especially lovely vintage “something blue” bridal piece.

Inside, the hat is constructed over a pale blue open net foundation and finished with coordinating blue grosgrain. Two interior combs help secure the hat when worn. The original label reads “Miss Sally Victor – New York.”
